Like thousands of others – are you waiting for John Lewis’ Xmas ad before you even start thinking about the festive season? Well you wont have to wait very long (if previous Xmas ad are to go by) as John Lewis’ Christmas campaign typically starts on the first week of November.

Could Adele’s new song be the main soundtrack of this years ad as there was a teaser of Adele’s new track during an ITV X Factor break which had twitter users rife with speculation? or has marketingmagazine.co.uk sniffed out the potential track, as it revealed today, Oasis’s famous track ‘Half The World Away’, could also be in the running?!

In 2014 Tom Odell covered John Lennon’s ‘Real Love’ in the much-loved Monty the Penguin spot and in 2013 pop star Lily Allen created a version of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ for animated ad The Bear and the Hare. Its 2012 Snowman advert featured a cover of the Frankie Goes to Hollywood track ‘The Power of Love’, by Gabrielle Aplin.

A spokesperson from John Lewis said: “Speculation about every element of our Christmas advert happens every year. However we can confirm that at this point in time, neither the track nor the artist have been confirmed.”
